Four years ago, Jim ran with a simple motto: “Students First!” Every decision he has made as your trustee has been guided by what is best for students.

Jim and his wife are proud Bearcat parents. One of their sons is still a student-athlete in the district, and the other is studying engineering at Cal Poly thanks to the education he received at Paso. Serving on the school board is Jim’s way of giving back to a district that has given his family so much.

With more than 25 years of public service experience, Jim is an active community leader. He is the Heritage Ranch General Manager, a former Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce Director, Chair of the Paso Robles Sales Tax Oversight Committee, a Paso Robles Recreation Foundation Director, and an Elder at Highlands Church.

With your support, Jim will continue to:

• Improve graduation rates and ensure graduates are prepared for a career or college. Our students are doing better, but there is more to do.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility by keeping tax money in the classroom rather than in the pockets of special interests.
• Retain and attract great teachers by supporting fair contracts the district can afford.
• Protect sports and extracurriculars. Jim fought to get the pool built, keeping a promise to taxpayers and students, and will keep improving athletics, arts, and career training programs.
